This is an interview from December of 1978 of Karen promoting their album "Christmas Portrait" which had been released some months earlier. Karen commentaries before each song is played, so you can hear the story behind it. It is a great interview and I hope that you enjoy it. The radio station that it broadcasted on was KIQQ in Los Angeles.

Karen Carpenter is the only other singer that does this song justice other then Judy Garland.. Both ladies are missed... But this is one of the songs that I listen for every year from the 1st of December right up to Christmas Day.. Thank you..

Why didn't they release the slower Santa Claus is Coming To Town on this album?

Again, Karen's beautiful voice and vocal range is exhibited in this timeless song, among one of the best ever!

It sounds as if there's hardly a chance to get a breath in singing "It's Christmas Time." Karen is very matter-of-fact and modest throughout this interview.
