Critical Thinking 101. Randall Niles delivers a "Wake up Call" for all the passive wanderers in life. (This is a 2007 low res classic - For higher quality, please visit "Philosophy of Life" on this same YouTube channel.)

Our culture isn't thinking anymore! We aren't even asking the basic life questions anymore. Were passive creatures, sponging-up the latest drippings of pop culture and mass media. Do we even know how to think anymore? I mean, truly observe our world, honestly analyze what it reveals, and make genuine conclusions for ourselves?

Are we actively educated or submissively indoctrinated? Do we even know what we really-really believe anymore?

The purpose of these videos is simple get the wheels spinning again! Provide meaningful sparks to dead batteries Apply jumper cables to inert minds.

The goal of these videos is rather idealistic launch a new wave of genuine life journeys throughout our culture! Get side-liners and bench-warmers invested again. Go from passive to active in this wonderful adventure of human existence.

Together, lets honestly ask the basic life questions again. Lets truly examine the awesome world around us. Lets go on authentic life journeys without precept or presupposition.

Where does the evidence lead? What do our experiences reveal? What scares us? What excites us? What compels us to move forward in this crazy thing called life?

Whats genuine? Whats not? Who's genuine? Who's not?

There is right and wrong in this world. There is good and evil. Some things are black and white. There's truth and there's deception.

Are we intellectually honest with ourselves? Do we even care anymore? Is there any kind of truth worth pursuing in this whacky world? What is truth anyway? If its eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die then we should embrace that with every fiber of our being But is there something else? Some purpose, some meaning, some truth that we should be seeking?

Take a moment and just think Where are you today? Whats currently being fed to you? Are you swallowing before you chew?

  • Hey Jimmy --

    Post some specifics.

Let's critically examine your side of the argument --

    Thanks.

  • Most people, at one point or another, DO ponder the "basic life questions"--and then proceed to latch on to a belief system (usually religious in nature) that provides them with psychologically and emotionally comforting answers.

TRUE critical thinking--approaching every issue "without precept or presupposition"--would be the death knell for religious faith, which is why most apologists only pay it lip service.

  • crithical thinking and religion together? i don´t think so!

  • Good message if it wasn't coming from someone with such a narrow and static worldview. It almost seems as if Randall here wants us all to become christians.. but no, surely not!

  • I like this video

  • What does this have to do with critical thinking?

  • This video is a good example of someone who's heard about critical thinking, but never really learned those skills :/

  • jumper cables to the brain? do i drill a hole or can i just attach them to my ears?

  • @OsakaChiyoDestroyU If you didn't notice, he posted your comment. I bet he is just doing that so he doesn't get any trolls saying "F YOU! YOUR STUPID AND CHRISTIAN!"

  • In an information and entertainment packed enviroment, there seems little time to mull things over. Maybe the farmer laboring in the field was fortunate to have so much time for his mind to ponder reality. Today's kids are not pondering anything except how to manipulate their parents. They haven't time, as they are either in school trying to learn what is being fed to them or playing video games. What a year of hard labor would do for them. The poor spoiled basturds. They haven't got a chance!

  • @86Corvus Agreed.

  • this is nice example of how to talk for a minute and a half and not say annything.

  • you look like my driving instructor ha
