Yes, I agree. You really have a great voice, but it looked too planned out. It should appear more natural, you know?

A very warm and gently voice :)

My school is doing this musical! I love this girl's voice, but I think she could have showed a bit more emotion. Still good job though

She has an amazing voice, but she kinda is acting like a robot. You're supposed to be sad and emotional, not choppy with weirdly rehearsed moves. It needs to be more organic.

I feel good in saying this is my cousin Katie Badalamenti and good job.

@RavenCartel13 I made that comment a long time ago, so i cant remember my exact feelings at the time, but after re-watching the video just now I think my biggest problem is that she didn't seem accepting to me. She seemed HAPPY that she was about to die. That simply bothers me to a small extent.
Even still, the way I said it back then was rude.
In my defense, I had just finished with my own performance of the same musical and, at the time, I was overly critical towards everything to do with it.

@bambam111992 I find this comment interesting. The situation is definitely sad, but Yonah doesn't come off to me as a miserable person. I don't think you should tell anyone how to perform something, though, unless they're completely misinterpreting the song. The smile was an interesting touch; it showed Yonah as a strong, accepting girl who comes to terms with even the worst news because she knows what she must do.

I wish I could have the opportunity to sing with you. I'm so jealous of your pipes : ]

Her style is very children's theater/old school musicals. I can see her in the pajama game or something. I'm glad she's still acting. :)
Friends of mine went to see this musical and when our theater group was going to do it, gave me a copy of the dvd. I have watched it countless times and am in love with the music from the show. I wish the orchestra had slowed the song just a little to show off your voice more. I still love watching this clip though. My daughter loved the show so much that she has used this song in a choir concert for a solo and for a local talent show.

@melaniec1225 glad you had an opportunity to see the video. Thank you for your kind words. Kaitie is still doing musical theater (though she is a speech pathology major in college) and was just hired for an acting job this summer in "Urinetown" at Farmers Alley Theatre. Musical theater is still a huge part of her life and I imagine, always will be. Good luck to your daughter in choir and with her singing. And I totally agree, COE is one of the best musicals out there.

@emstage95 Thanks so much for the nice comment. Kait is almost 20 now and has matured into quite the actor. She is currently Pan in Peter Pan opening in July at Center Stage Theatre. Flying and the whole shebang...

whoa, wha?! she's only 15 here?! that's insane. this girl has potential out the wazoo and is phenomenal already. smart choice not belting the high note at the end. a great, powerful, HEALTHY tone from a rising star. keep up the great work.

This is Kait on the family youtube username. I absolutely appreciate this post, thank you so much. There is nothing like being a pubescent 15 year old going through painful orthodontia surgerys, and being totally lost in a voice change. I am 18 now and so busy with singing jobs it's crazy. It is positive feedback posts like these that help little ones strive for their dreams. Thankyou so much, if I get some of my college videos posted, I'll be sure to update everyone. : )
