Charles Spurgeon is proved a heretic by this paragraph taken from his sermon, "Little Sins" No. 248 Delivered on April 17, 1850 by the Rev. C. H. Spurgeon

He claims that in order to be saved you must turn away from "every little sin."

On the contrary, the Bible says:

Act 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Rom 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Joh 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

  • You've embarassed yourself with this video. Clearly Spurgeon is too deep for you. Not one of your verses in any way refutes what Spurgeon was saying; in fact, they aren't even related. He's talking about full repentance from sin, not removing sin by your will. Perhaps you should've had someone smarter read it for you?

  • I think the title of this video should be changed. It is misleading. Please change it to "Sanderson1611 exposed!" :D

  • I don't see the issue? Spurgeon appears to be saying if you refuse to repent of sin you distance yourself from God. All I can say is thank you for a video of sound doctrine. God Bless.

  • I know Spurgeon's works and I have never seen anything contrary to Biblical sound doctrine. But even if a preacher does state something that may be off, does not mean that he is a heritic, we are all learning, preachers are not free from error. Now if it were a habitual thing where the preacher was always saying things that were unbiblical I would begin to be concerned. Another person also tried to say that A.W. Pink was a false preacher because of one quote they thought was unbiblical.

  • dude..

  • It is still true that some people do misrepresent others. We have a man at the moment who claims that John Bunyan was an unbelievers, that John Calvin was an unbeliever, all the Puritans were unbelievers, and he does this by misquoting them. Spurgeon leaves a lot to be desired, and allowed himself to be compromised. I would not be all that surprised if what is quoted is correct. However, before making any firm decision I think it is best to go to the source of the material and look at it object

  • @smcs Turn away from sin is to make salvation of works, not of grace. When a person is saved, given supernatural repentance, the old nature to wilfully sin is dealt with, a new heart, new disposition is given. The man that commits sin is not born of God. This is clear in scripture (1.Jhn.3.6).

  • @leftpuman What Spurgeon is clearly enunciating is that salvation is of man. He removes the supernatural. Who can know his sins? Only Omnipotence knows the sin of man. How can we know? We know we sin but precisely to what extent and what sin is the sin?

  • @RelyOnChrist777 Indeed. And who can count his sins? Who can know his sins? Mr Spurgeon take out the supernatural, making Christianity natural. It was the done thing in those days. Nothing new.

  • @RelyOnChrist777 You're projecting! The man with jaundice sees all things yellow...

  • @demismizpah Amen, anytime Sanderson seeks to expose someone, he ends up exposing just how little he understands of scripture.

  • @tolar9 I agree with you about this video. Some cowardly folks like to take shots at Gods men after they've gone. Similar to the claim tha KING JAMES was a sodomite. The man who started that lie only did it after Jame was dead for many years. Hogwash!
