As much I appreciate David's vocals on this track, my favorite version of this song was sung by Chris Thompson along with The Alan Parson's Project their "Live" CD - it is a truly incredible vocal performance in my opinion, better even than the original by Farnham.

i agree with most, he has no vocal power...john farnham has(or had) a killer set of pipes back in the day..dunno how he is now, but id assume he's gotten too old to really be able to sing like he could in 87

I don't like this version! Maybe it's because I grew up with John Farnham or maybe it's because John has the much stronger voice but all I know is that I don't like this version one bit!!

SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU TASTELESS BASTARD! he butchered one of the all time greatest hits, and turned it into something unlistenable. he is a shit artist trying to make ends meat, but he can't coz he sucks to much elephant penises. there i said wat i had to say, so go cry to your mommy and listen to somemore shitty crap thats been fucking auto tuned to the max because he cannot sing for shit!

i don't care much who's has a better cover ...
for me david archuleta picking this song among the other is enough thing to prove that he is sensitive and have a good taste in choosing songs with very good meaning behind it...
this recording was done when he was 17...
if you will listen to him now...
you will notice his progress and improvement...
