The 2008 University of Southern California Body Computing Conference was held at USC on October 24, 2008, hosted by Leslie Saxon, chief of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California.
As host, Dr. Saxon opened the conference by giving her thoughts on the significance of the conference and the progress made since last years inaugural event. During her opening remarks, she wore a Corventis wireless networked patch. As the audience looked on, her physiological information was displayed in real time on the overhead projector.
C. L. Max Nikias, USC executive vice president and provost, shared his perspective on the rapid progress the field of body computing is making, and the leading role USC plays in it.
