After finishing Deus Ex, I've decided to do a relatively quick run of System Shock 1. Yeah, I know there's someone else doing a commentary run, but I'm doing this all the same. So there.

This is also called Battle of the girly voices because all the video footage has been sped up to 150% normal speed making my own voice sound silly.

  • What do you play it on so as to not crash every 5 minutes.

  • Luck 3.0. The video makes it look deceptively simple, but crashing was a huge problem. What I was doing though was playing on a virtualized copy of Windows XP using MS Virtual PC 2007. That way I could record it easier.

  • Plot difficulty determines the number of plot elements present in the game. ie. blow up the laser, blow up the antenna, etc. The exception is plot level 3. All it adds over level 2 is a time limit.

Combat difficulty adjusts the health and aggression of the enemies. 0 is placid and tough as tissue. 3 is death incarnate.

Cyber is like combat, but for cyberspace.

Puzzle adjusts the difficulty of the logic puzzles for some doors. At 0 they're solved instantly.

  • There anywere i can see playthrogh with out commentary?

  • WHY IS YOUR VOICE SO HIGH? STOP BREATHING HELIUM!

  • @Renegen1 I know this is a pretty old camment and such but if you are still interested in System Shock 1 or you haven't figured a solution out what Lollybomb is playing is "System Shock Portable" just search it on google.

  • lol "hello mr cyborg! Die!"

  • I can't tell in the recording, what do those options in the start alter? I've never even imagined a "Mission Difficulty" separate a "Combat Difficulty".
