I can't tell in the recording, what do those options in the start alter? I've never even imagined a "Mission Difficulty" separate a "Combat Difficulty".

What do you play it on so as to not crash every 5 minutes.

Luck 3.0. The video makes it look deceptively simple, but crashing was a huge problem. What I was doing though was playing on a virtualized copy of Windows XP using MS Virtual PC 2007. That way I could record it easier.

Plot difficulty determines the number of plot elements present in the game. ie. blow up the laser, blow up the antenna, etc. The exception is plot level 3. All it adds over level 2 is a time limit.
Combat difficulty adjusts the health and aggression of the enemies. 0 is placid and tough as tissue. 3 is death incarnate.
Cyber is like combat, but for cyberspace.
Puzzle adjusts the difficulty of the logic puzzles for some doors. At 0 they're solved instantly.
