I've always loved a big pop song. Whether it's something really unique like Bon Iver "Skinny Love" and "Towers" or something more universal like Coldplay "Paradise", the sweeping melodies and massive hooks get me every time. This song is my attempt at something like that. Originally I envisioned it as something similar to the theme song for The Office, but as I kept working on it, it morphed into something entirely else. I've found that for me, that's the way the process goes. I have a style goal in mind and by the end of it, I've come up with something almost unrecognizable to that goal. But that discovery of something new is the beauty of songwriting and is what I love to find.

I recorded this song using my grandpa's 1950's Martin acoustic, a CAD GXL2200 for my voice and the guitar, into an Alesis Multimix 8 firewire mixer, through Logic Express 9. All other instruments were created in Logic.
