Sandford Parks Lido Christmas Day Swim 2009 video from http://www.soglos.com filmed in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, UK, on Friday 25 December 2009.
Every year dozens of brave participants take part in the annual tradition, lining up along the edge of the pool and waiting for the signal to jump in, which is thought to have started over 50 years ago in World War II.
This year the water was particularly cold, measuring one degree celcius, and topped with a thin layer of ice which can be seen in the video. For more information about the event see http://www.soglos.com/sport-outdoor/28782/Sandford-Parks-Lido-Christmas-Swim.
