  • hey nice landing, u know wat, i used to land the same thing till one day i knew how to use ils and a few more things, most of the time i always land manually i just use ils for lining up to the runway the rest is all manual handling, cool video

  • Thanks. Yup I used ILS to align myself too...

  • that is not manuly i can see the glideslope autodecenting i real manuly landing is with no autopilot

  • Hm, it is a manual land... the PFD shows FLT DIR instead of Land 3. and if it was autoland.. It would definitely landed nicely.....

  • probably the music lol

  • wtf my hand did start to shake why?

  • Well, overall its a very nice approach. And your alot better than an a Guy who speends most on his life on FSX and who does not know anything about aviation "Cough" Couch" cessna154..

    5/5 :)

  • It's one of those newbie FS mistakes that a lot make (including myself at one point) that ILS is equivalent to autoland. Took me some time to realize that ILS is just an aid and is separate from whoever is flying (eg. "George" or the pilot).

  • come now necromancer and alongo34, "real" manual landings in commercial jets NEVER occur without the help of LOC and GS Diamonds. MANUAL landings in commercial jets on a regular basis occur using ILS, but the PILOT hand flies to the runway. Also, you should have noticed that the AUTOPILOT was NOT on in this video. He was following the indicators manually. Notice that the Autopilot button did not have a Yellow LIght meaning it was OFF.

  • Here's something that might help u. Assume that the LOC DIAMOND commands you to turn right to get back on GS track. Well as you initiate that small bank, you will see the LOC DIAMOND travel back to centre. BUT as it does so, you should already be straightening the aircraft out. If you wait for the DIAMOND to hit centre before you straighten out, then in the time it takes to straighten, the DIAMOND will be commanding a left turn. As timbuktu has noted, anticipation is key. =) good effort tho.

  • Very well put. I like the comments about anticipation. No big bank angle on the GS path otherwise u can end up with the good ol' continuous oscillation nightmare.

  • He was still using the ILS, just manually tracking it the entire time.
