Don't spread your legs as much. You can get lower to avoid having to press it out like that, but more importantly you won't have to worry as much about destroying your knees.
@capscave the core is definitely challenged in the snatch as the lifter basically has to perform a deep squat with the weight overhead, where as in a jerk the lifter doesnt really go into a full squat/lunge during the lift. i feel a belt is just used on a personal basis, a lot of guys in the olympics dont use them
@Flyyyy A lot of lifters who snatch don't use a belt for several reasons. 1. the belt gets in the way of the bar path. 2. the snatch weight is lighter than the clean and jerk therefore not challenging the trunk "core" so no belt is necessary. I don't use a belt when snatching but on a clean and jerk I do.

@Aggy07 Yes some do. When they are going for max. Jason Khalipa also did it with Crossfit Total (Max backsquat + max press + max deadlift)

When going for a max....use a belt. Build your core when you are using lighter weight (no belt)
