It's called "throat singing." The Tuvans are especially good at it. I was raised by Buddhist monks in a sacred monastary atop a volcano; to gain access to it one must climb up a sheer cliff on a rope. And then I learned to harmonize both with the cosmos and myself (same thing).

When I played, with bands, I changed them several times a week. Now that i'm a father, coach, and worker robot, I change them about 2 times a year. I'm not sure if it's laziness, or i've become a, 30 yr, old cheap bastard.
