First off, what this is not: A video saying one is better than the other. Both bikes have their virtues and vices. It was just a means for ME to quantify any advantage one bike may or may not have over my other one.

Here is an UN-scientific comparison test I did, just for giggles, with my bicycles recently that I thought I might share. Everyone says that recumbents have an aerodynamic advantage. I wanted to see how much (if any) advantage in coasting my Volae Century had over MY hybrid upright bike. Both bikes were given 80 pounds of air pressure in their tires because the most my hybrid's (street) tires can take is 75 pounds. But I gave the bikes 80 pounds to have a nice even number and to help the Mongoose upright bike. Each bike was ridden in it's normal position. No aero-tuck for the upright bike because I don't ride that way; real-world conditions here.
Also I made a mistake in the video by saying I only pedaled one rotation for balance when I actually did 3. So, I also did 3 on my upright bike when it's turn came the next day at the same time; 9am.

PS- Note the speed difference as well as the distance for the two bikes. I was suprised by the great difference in my results!
