BBC Micro game Mr Ee

A savestate-free playthrough of another childhood favourite, Mr Ee. This game, a conversion of the arcade classic Mr Do, has the interesting feature that a level ends either when all the cherries are collected or when all the monsters are killed, so there are many different ways to approach the game. In this video I aim to complete the ten unique levels as quickly as possible (after Scene 10, the game continues by cycling through the same level layouts) so I do not activate the "generator" in the centre of the screen or aim to complete EXTRA. (I will be showing what happens when each of these is achieved in a separate video.)

The music for this video is the Galop Infernal from Jacques Offenbach's Orpheus in the Underworld.

It does have that feel to it, but really, I was badly out of practice when I did this playthrough, and one sign of it is that I don't kill enough of the monsters. It's tricky to find the right balance between killing monsters and collecting the cherries as quickly as possible.

I played this game an enormous amount on my Beeb and later my Master. Such a shame there wasn't the memory for a high score table. There was a Mr. Do machine at the pub in Ilminster for years, so it Mr. Ee was always a popular game when my friends used to visit. And Mr. E is also one of my favourite Barclay James Harvest tracks as well!
