The PCC: A streetcar named success Car No. 1015

This car is painted in tribute to the 'Magic Carpets', as Muni's first five modern-design streetcars were known.

The PCC: A streetcar named success Car No. 1056

This car is painted to honor Kansas City, which ran PCC streetcars from 1941 to 1957. Kansas City's PCCs—184 in all—were painted to emphasize their modern lines, with a black 'swoosh' on the sides to highlight the logo of Kansas City Public Service Company (Frederic Remington's famed sculpture The Scout on a red heart).

  • Actually car No. 1015 is painted to represent the Illinios Terminal PCC cars which except for couplers and door arrangements were virtually identical to the SF "Torpedo" PCC cars. It's a very nice reproduction. A real IT PCC car still exists at the Connecticut Trolley Msueum at Warehouse Point, CT. If you find any photos compare the two.
