I guess people (especially the Americans who see themselves as the victims here) get confused by the phrase "They just don't get it in America", assuming it as an insult to their intellect rather than the absence of the store in America. Also, to those people who are offended by such an ad. Lol, you guys need to chillax. Like seriously, stop thinking of yourself as if you're a hivemind.

@WasteofTimeofSpace I've got to be honest I never knew that Red Rooster was Australian until I saw this ad, I assumed it was worldwide.

@WasteofTimeofSpace They're not dumb, it's just getting surprised/funny reactions out of them. The point of the ad is that Red Rooster is Australian and it sells roast chicken, not fried and that no-one else gets it. If the Canadians came to Australia and walked around asked what Tim Hortons and used random Canadian slang, most Australians wouldn't have a clue on what they're talking about.

Pick up is an American made Ute for people with small penises
Wendy'sis a chain that does ice cream, milkshakes ect
pontiac is a re-branding of Australian Holdens

I have an idea, lets film some hundreds of people in New York, then lets pick the dumbest answers and showcase it as if it does represent Americans in general.

Hey guys, let's cherry pick the dumbest people we can find, and apply that to an entire population! It's not like that in itself is completely ignorant.

There were 40 people who actually thought this was a good commercial. 3 People who didn't.
You now have a good guess at the ratio of retarded/non-retarded youtube users.

There's a bar not far from me called the red rooster, they have excellent pizza.
I will tell my people in Australia what a "pick up", a "Pontiac", a "Wendy's" and a "Dunkin' Donuts" is and they won't have a clue (except for Wendy's, which they knew it's an ice-cream shop). Do it to the Kiwis and the results are beter.

Everyone in Australia knows what a pick-up truck is. And we know about Pontiac cars. We also know what to buy from Wendys and Dunkin Donuts. That's the point. American culture is forced upon the world, but Americans have no interest in what happens outside the 50 States and one federal district.
