The Greatest !!

@ParanoidAndroidDA Personally I applaud and celebrate both Acosta and Bolle as top world class artists period. My preference for a particular dancer is based on the requirements of a certain dance and the "fit" between the dancer's style and ability to the dance itself. No one comes near dancing Ballanchine's Apollo as well as Bolle and his Romeo and Juliet is incredible, along with his performance of Sylvia with the Royal Ballet (1952 version choreographed by Frederick Ashton).

@EROSGODOFGAYS Personally I prefer Acosta to Bolle, I find Acosta has more humanity in his performance whereas Bolle seems very regal.

I know nothing about the technicalities of ballet, nor did I have an interest until I saw this amazing young man on you tube...now I'm hooked. Hooked enough to pay to see him in London...will keep you posted.

Stunning!

Carlos' precision and the height of his jumps are superior to all other current male dancers. He does not have the grace of Roberto Bolle, but Bolle does not have Acosta's precision. Both Acosta and Bolle are; however, athletes and top world class artists. They are both amazing dancers!

Anyone who has seen Carlos Acosta dance on stage will know that he is a great dancer both technically and artistically. He also appears to be a well balanced human being and is an artist who makes the effort to tour to provincial theatres so that we can all see him still dancing at something approaching his best? He is the best male ballet dancer that I have seen on stage or in film and, yes, I did see Nureyev dance on stage.

Acosta is a human being of extraordinary qualities, and warmth. As Alicia pointed out ..Before you are anything, you are a human being, and he is a danseur of unparalleled finesse. He has earned the praise hidden in the mysteries of the universe, for he has done what he likes the best with out pouring passion. I like him more than I could express.

@kabardinka1 i agree completely he iss a real technician and he is hella fine, but for me he has no presence or feeling for the music. he doesn't command my attention. honestly i only enjoy watching him because he's so hott xPP
I am curious about just what aspect of his dancing everyone is judging negatively. His dancing seems to be loosing the "flash" as he ages - not because he is declining physically, oh no. It is because he is dancing with taste that only comes with maturity. All of the spinning & jumping tackyness that obsesses younger dancers is so very, VERY boring. At some point we need to remember that ballet is an art, not a sport &/or mathematics. Form is a means to an end, not THEE end.
