@RicksBarber and long train running is one of the most overused karaoke songs in the world. fact.
randy was spot on point with his summation. it's not a song to highlight the vocal talents/ranges of a singer. he never said doobies were shit... think you've gone off track here and not really thought in depth about what randy was saying.

@sharkark Randy Jackson didn't say the Doobies were shit or couldn't sing or that their vocals were shit. He was talking, in particular, about the TRACK! What he means is that track was a BAND type song not a song for the solo vocalist wishing to highlight the BEST of his/hers vocal range/ability. Frankly Jackson is on point with that comment. Any singer would know that. I have to disagree with you that it's their vocals that make their music since they had a few lead vox over their history...!

@TheBanyanEmperor If American Idol was "real" nobody would watch it and the show would suck. Plus there would only be one famous judge out of the three and the producers would have very little say and the top three for this season would be Garrett, Alaina, and Colton... and none would make it big. And to be honest, every reality show is like this. AGT, Th Voice, X Factor... But otherwise it would basically be the equivalence of people singing at a bar only with judges and a camera.

Tom Johnston of The Doobies who originally sang this did not sound all that well, white! Total lack of soul I thought. Sort of like if Vanilla ice was to sing this is the vibe I got.

Randy , You of all 3 , know Rock Music , the other 2 are idiots ! You don't write the and play the music and sell music like this band has and continues to do year and year again without knowing the business , I think you need to regroup and think before you open your mouth !
