Folks, enough of the name calling and bickering. Spend some time in history books and you will find out none of this is new. It's just a cycle that has happened dozens of times in the past.
The Romans tried forms of welfare and it lead to their destruction. It began innocently enough. Politicians began "bribing" citizens with gifts. Free food, then free spectacles. The practice led more corruption and eventually the end of freedom for most Romans.
In hindsight, it is easy to study the causes

@gdbalck What he says about entitlementns is false. The bulk of our spending is on our military. We can make the case for Afghanistan, but not for Iraq, Libya or the 900 military base, most of which serve zero strategic purposes. There is over one trillion in fat we can trim from that. Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security mostly benefit old GOP voters while being the three largest entitlements that we have. Welfare and food stamp programs only make up 5% of entitlement spending.

@TheHalomaster22. i guess he good in that he not as worse as many others but he's not really better either. i cant defend this political system its a mess and very corrupt. the misandric laws in this country are just utter craziness. and the way the govt has wedged itself in between everything from family, race, income, education, religious, reproductive rights, etc, almost guarantees americans will continue to be divided. we need more self-determination period.

@mykole84 dude hes not a bad president he was given a bad situation that we were already in from bushes term. sure he didnt make all good decision but the rest of the govt is pretty much corrupted.
