@iSteven00 And what's the matter?
-
@ministrante01 the hymn is called 'Sing to him in whom creation', and it can be found in the New English Hymnal (1985)

@AnotherAppleMacbook They arent that traditional, woman and opely gay men can become priests

@Corpuscani As a Catholic, this is the part where I am confused. The 39 Articles explicitly said that "Transubstantiation (or the change of the substance of Bread and Wine) in the Supper of the Lord, cannot be proved by Holy Writ; but is repugnant to the plain words of Scripture, overthroweth the nature of a Sacrament, and hath given occasion to many superstitions." And that masses as sacrifices are "blasphemous fables." But here, Anglicans seem to be doing the same thing...

@jajohnson7809 are you a former roman catholic? if so check out the institute of Christ the king sovereign priest or the priestly fraternity of st. peter. They do the Tridentine Mass and are in full communion with Rome. Yes you are right about eastern orthodox liturgies being beautiful, i can see the connection between them and the traditional latin mass. Come home!

@Corpuscani - But you folks ordain Queers and Women openly, knowingly and sacrilegiously. You also consecrate them Bishops, Archbishops, etc. while you know that they are living in sin and as public sinners.

@pipeup1 One quibble: it's an ALTAR not an ALTER. Otherwise, a competEnt assessment.

@Inkyminkyzizwoz "Catholic" means "universal" so one can't say that the RC church is the "only" true Catholic Church; it is merely the Roman "bit" of the true Catholic Church. The Apostolic Succession is unbroken in the Anglican Church since the arrival of St Augustine. Jesus never used the word "Pope" and nor did St Peter - get over it! Anglicans believe entirely in the Real Presence - stop showing your ignorance. We accept the Pope as a fellow Catholic and as Bishop of Rome.

@212Leyden Ah... interesting! I didn't think there was such a verse! It would be a good thing to sling at a sola fide Protestant! ^_^
But you see, neither good works nor faith saves us. Did they save Abraham, Moses, or David? No. Only the death of Jesus and His Resurrection saves us, and by the Grace He gives in that Resurrection we are saved. Faith and good works, however, are the means by which we accept this freely offered gift. We cannot accept grace without faith and good works. Amen?

@SorokChyetirye James 2:24
read the verse
The sad thing is.. this is more traditional than my Roman Catholic parish. Go Anglicans for keeping tradition alive!

High church is the way to go. Aesthetics are such an important part of worship in my opinion, which is why I love Anglo-Catholic and Eastern Orthodox liturgies. I don't understand the whole charismatic megachurch phenomena popular in America. I left the faith some time ago, but I miss the beauty of the liturgy. Maybe I'll come back someday.
