This is Japanese traditional lathe turning a wooden bowl. He is a professional bowl turner and 30years of experience in Wajima city, Ishikawa prefecture. He is using template to make same shape of sample bowl.

  • @fall22123 maybe he likes that setup and it is easy for him

  • I realize the guy is a master at what he does but that doesn't look like a practical set-up. Why not put the lathe on a bench so you can stand and be comfortable rather than squatting over your work. Also, his tools are laying all over the place. I'm not criticizing, just wondering why everything works so well the way he has it set up.

  • Sure wish the video had been longer. I love to watch talented people preforming

    their craft.
