@XtraYT Both AMOLED and Retina Display stand in different categories. Retina Display is amount of pixels packed in 1 inch, while AMOLED is contrast. What companies should do now is make a Retina Display Super AMOLED. That would be a perfect display. As of right now, AMOLED displays still can't support the high ppi Retina Display has.

@U2ber4lif3 I can see the AMOLED or just OLED replacing the LCD and the LCD changing to another usage... As LCD is the only known technology that can form opaque pixels by polarizing the light, I think it's a good idea to merge both technologies into a Transparent AMOLED/LCD display that can use LCDas a filter to change into opaque....

@fixingbraincell AMOLED display will be the trend once production goes to full throttle! Retina Display ?? It will become? a 2nd tier display for those consumer electronic manufacturer just can't get hold of or enough AMOLED to put in their gadgets. AMOLED will wins the battle of mobile displays.

The refreshment rate is higher with OLED than LCD. You get no ghosting at all.
