During a two-week jazz cruise on board Celebrity's Constellation cruise ship the Grand Dominion traditional Jazz Band played Tishomingo Blues (composed by Spencer Williams) on January 14, 2011. The cruise departed from San Diego and traversed the Panama Canal before docking in Fort Lauderdale. Several dixieland bands were on the ship and played music many hours of each day for the enjoyment of their audiences. The classic Grand Dominion Jazz Band was one of the featured bands and consists of: piano/leader - Bob Pelland; trumpet/clarinet - Clint Baker; trombone/vocals - Jim Armstrong; clarinet/saxaphone - Gerry Green; banjo - Bill Dixon; drums -Jeff Hamilton; string bass - Mike Fay. This trad band's website is www.gdjb.com where you can find a schedule of their events as well as cds for sale. This video was filmed by Franklin Clay Films. Other band videos taken during the cruise, as well as a summary video in 3 parts, can be found by going to www.wxyzvideos.com. Several organizations sponsor jazz cruises -- this one was by www.jazzsea.com.
