@11moii actually there have been studies to suggest that plants can "feel" pain. But again all of these people on here with their "eating fish like that is murder" You really need to understand the you are applying humanistic characteristics to something that is NOT in fact human. sensations are one thing. Psychological damage to a dying fish...is just plain mental. Stop considering that a fishes psychology is the same. It's not.

Wow, I'm seriously amazed at how many people are up in arms about a future meal. If it makes you feel better to "put" it out of it's misery before you decide to prepare it fine, But shut the hell up with how other people should be dealing with their fish. IT'S FOOD. IT'S DYING! I fail to see the huge issue here. call me cruel but it's a meal. I could see if it was just to torture the damn thing. calm the hell down people. Chef John if you go back and read this. You are awesome!

I haven't gone fishing in years....I really miss putting the fresh fish on ice only to go straight to the camping spot to fry them. :) I would love to get a 'humane treatment' person to go with me. *sigh* some people don't know what good food is :P

Someone needs to teach that kid how to hold a fucking fork.
And quit bitching about the fish, they were already dead. Even if they weren't, who gives a shit? If you care about 'em so much go jump in the freezing cold water and protect them.

Did anyone who thought the treatment of the fish was inhumane at all notice that the fish were not alive while they were filleted? They were using an electric knife, thats why the fish appeared to be "moving."
