The prosperity gospel churches really sicken me, completely man focused and not God focused, just yapping on for hours each "sermon" about themselves and their selfishness, God isnt in their churches.

Yes i agree.

For example what about the gifts of the spirit such as prophecy and the word of knowledge?

I know there are abuses of the gifts but lets get a balance.

Just because there are some false teachers out there lets not discard the whole thing.

I know God speaks personaly in relationship to his children but everything must line up according to his word.

If God does not speak to us through the Holy Spirit then how do you explain to me God telling me to go to a christian rehab to get off of drugs when I was making excuses in my head not to go, or God telling me that cigarrettes were my god just before i went there.
