i havent enjoyed a harvest moon as much as i enjoyed Back to Nature on PS1, most if not all of the other harvest moon games just cant get the towns people right, they only have a few lines, very rarely interact with eachother and lack a decent daily routine, they just dont seem alive to me. The actual farming gets better every game, but i want to feel like part of a community as i did in back to nature rather than a farmer in a town full of robots....

I love all the Harvest Moon games except this one and TT because the animals were too stupid to feed themselves when they were outside :[

@Legopancake The people in Animal Parade and Tree of Tranquility seem to have fairly good personal lives if you bring up their heart levels - in fact, they'll even partake in their own cut scenes just involving eachother - also - the lines devlop quite well and change with season, weather, if your married or have had a child or if they are married or have a child and various other factors. Though not quite as good as btn they did quite well..But that's just my opinion....

The Upgraded Tools is nothing new to this version. I remember having to do the same thing in just about every harvest moon game I played.

@Lego i have to wonder if you've tried them. and also if BtN was your first one. because it was so long ago, standards weren't very high. can't say the daily routines of BtN are better than any of the recent ones, but its true they should step the NPCs up. they have one NPC crushing on another, but nothing ever happens. perhaps their relationship progresses and they can get together if you take too long or something. or maybe NPCs should seek YOU out sometimes. oh, the ideas...
