This is my 1974 super beetle sunbug. I have had it a few months now, but just finding the time to get everything lined out so I can drive it legally. I will be posting more video's in the near future of my progress even of me driving her.
Holly smokes. Did I see an A/C unit in the rear tunk. Have you done any research on your unit. Have you got it working as I don't see a belt running to it. I would like to add one to my daughters 1974 super beetle autostick. It gets hot here in Calif. I am having trouble with the turn signals both flashing at the same time when turned left or right. Any input?? Let me know about your A/C unit...
Very nice. Looks very similar to mine. I think your fuel injection was slightly different then mine but I'm not sure. My 75 had a much different intake setup.
@Evan47777 a Porsche engine might be a little different and could possibly give you a little trouble. i have a pair of 1974 super beetles, and one has a 1640 engine by just changing the cylanders and pistons, and the other i am building either a 1776 or a 1835. should put out over 100 hp. If I were you, i would look at building a stroker engine at a relatively cheap cost.
Check for a short jumper wire on the back of the speedo, it's black and if not there the light will stay on. Samba has the diagram of where it is connected
Just like my first car it was gold. Only thing different was mine had a superbeetle logo on sides down by the running boards. I loved my car I wish I had never sold it.
i just got a jet back 1974 super beetle for my first car. my granpa and i are going to re-do the interior and, hopefully, put a Porsche engine in... i still want it to look like that "classic" look. what type of engine do you recommend?
