@nwlumsdens05 Thanks!

Great vid. I have been to Yosemite probably 3 dozen times but half dome is probably the last hike I have yet to do. Good inspiration right here :)

Hello, looking good out there! My friends and I are going this June and we are looking for a good safety harness system...Could you tell me more about your customized anchorig system setup? Thanks in advance!

@rcomplex127 We made our harnesses ourselves. The harnesses were a piece of strong rope about 4 feet long with loops on each end. On each end was a carabiner. I'd recommend a solid climbing carabiner and not the key chain variety some of our group used. Use at least one carabiner that has a very large opening for ease of clipping and unclipping as you go around posts up the cables. We hooked them around our pack belts, but if you can get a climbing harness, I'd use that instead. Have fun.

Wow congrats!! You got bragging rights forever. The wind probably would have freaked me out a little. That is a looooong hike. This question is for the girl: So what do you do on that hike when you gotta use the bathroom? Is there anywhere to dive off behind a tree? That's a long time to be out and away from any facilities!

There are a couple of bathrooms along the route. The first is about 1/3 of the way up Vernal Falls (just after cross the bridge). The second is at the top of Nevada Falls. The last is in Little Yosemite Valley (about the half way point). Once you are above Nevada Falls, it is heavily wooded and there are very few people, so you can easily go somewhere off trail too (just remember, pack in, pack out). Have fun.

Loved it! I wanna do this so bad but I am scared of heights...ive done angels landing but this looks so much more steep and intense (the dome!)

It is an amazing hike. The cables are tough physically and would be tough mentally if you're afraid of heights. To make yourself more secure, rig up some kind of harness. The best would be something like a mountain climbing harness with a few feet of rope with a large caribiner on the end to hook to the cables. A large caribiner is needed for the large diameter cables. This will make you a lot more comfortable.
