Personally I would recommend against the 3-in-1 oil for folding knives. This oil remains a liquid, and although it lubricates well it will attract all manner of gunk and grime. Tuf-Glide works very nicely. The lubricant is suspended in mineral spirits, which evaporate. It smells pretty funky at first, but this quickly dissipates as the mineral spirits evaporate. This will leave you a well lubricated joint without getting gunked up.
you will love the military i have one and am getting a m4 millitary i allso have a 3 m4 knives and that is my favort steel it gets insanely sharp and is not that hard to sharpen
Check out the Sage series of Spyderco knives if you want a Persistence-style knife with high end materials. I think you'll be really pleased.

Tenacious, and it was stiff when i first got it until i did those two things =]
