iv just bought one of these only 3 days ago for $10 i only bought this for music and browsing the web, the specs of mine are
1.25ghz dualcore powerpc
1.5gb sdram
80gb hardrive x2
and an nvidia geforce 7300gt graphics card

If you want your mac to chime at startup, try resetting the PRAM by holding "COMMAND" + "OPTION" + "P" + "R" keys right after you pressed the power button of your mac. Wait until it chimed three times and let go. This is also a good procedure if you have troubles booting.
About the choppy YouTube videos... Did you try out the new HTML5 beta player?
