Greenwald: Assange + RT drives US mainstream berserk

Julian Assange's debut as TV-show host on RT was bound to provoke a mixed reaction from around the globe. The world's top whistleblower has drawn a wave of criticism for his choice to talk to a guest largely ignored by the mainstream media. Journalist Glenn Greenwald thinks there's apparent hypocrisy in the way some US media treat Assange.

it's a tangled web, the "propaganda" is actually for the most part dead on accurate, which makes it of course all the more effective. For those of us that see the USA govt as the true enemy, shows like RT are actually our best news source. Long live OWS, long live RT, long live freedom of religion and freedom from debt slavery.

P.S. Russia has tons of it's own problems, sure. We all know this. What's important here is that RT is exposing some brutal truths about international charades.

As I understand it, the majority of mainstream news outlets, including radio, TV, and the major newspapers, are owned and controlled by a small number of mega-corporations (oligarchs), and when these firms collude with our government and give up their adversial relationship, in effect they are operating as a government influenced monopoly to the detriment of freedom. The pro-government bias in our media corresponds to a pro-facist agenda based on half-lies, twisted facts, and silence.

The lastest threat to the free flow of information is CISPA. If our politicians can control the flow of information on the net, then they can control the way people think (or not) about policies. A lack of information creates ignorance, and ignorance creates a void that can be filled with state propaganda. Governments, including the US, lie for the sake of expediency. Our media has an obligation to reveal the truth. If not then freedom is a sham... an illusion. A big lie.

I'm wondering why the US mainstream media failed to cover the passage of the NDAA. Why no criticism, no analysis, no nothing. This seems to be typical of our mainstream media and it represents a serious failure to disseminate infomation that is deeply relevent to our basic rights. It's a sell out to our authoritarian government and the corrupting influence of the oligarchs that buy and sell our politicians like commodities. RT offers an alternative view. Good work.

Having spent many years in TV news with CBS, PBS, ABC, and NBC and leaving in total contempt and fury at the all the lies, cover-ups and blatant propaganda during the Gulf War, I'm very pleased to say that, alternative media is finally ruining and exposing any facade that remains of the Pentagon-controlled media circus.
