Project Yuppiemobile no longer sounds like a diesel. Between the bad bearing in the idler pulley and a bad tensioner shock absorber, everything jumped around and clattered. Sounds like a new car now.

Just losen the nut, repl. pulley, tighten the nut and you´good to go? I have the same problem on my ´94 E200. make a hell of a noice below 800 rpm.

suprised you didnt notice the plastic cover initially, always compare new to old before starting to work on it, makes life a lot easier!
