I got on an Unreal kick the other day. Felt like going back to my roots and enjoying a fat nostalgia trip. UT99 wound up being a bit of a wash because it was just playing odd on my PC. One copy-the controls felt sluggish. The other copy-the game would run really fast, be normal, run really fast, be normal. So I moved over to 2K4 instead. Long gone are the golden days of several US CTF servers to pick from. So, I wound up on a Euro instagib server. Considering the ping and tiny bit of rust, I didn't do too bad. There was one point in the middle where I had a laggy death where the game froze up a bit. I also tend to play a lot better when not frapsing as it lowers the FPS quite a bit.

  • There are some tweaks to make UT99 run normally, i had that fast/normal/fast issue a bit back too and it's fixable. do u play UT3? I thought it was cool, just never had anyone to play with

  • @mrpatbones

Yes I still have UT3 installed. Do you know what tweaks are making UT99 work well?

Check the facebook thread i included u on about MLUT for the latest IRC chan info

  • @CorkeyThatcher Honestly, I dont really remember. I know it was either using a modified direct3d.dll and/or some ini modifications. The main reason i remember it happening was because computers of today are simply "too fast" and causes that erratic behavior. I've never seen it in any other game, so maybe its just the Unreal Engine 1.0? I dunno. Try this.
