  • We miss ya Boss!

  • ummm, since when do you not trust your ears for tuning? its not like you can pull out a tuner in the middle of your playing and adjust. most of your tuning probably will be done by ear.

  • jeez watch how nervous the interviewer is- its distracting!

  • @MFHORNS111 when maynard was on the mike douglas show he sang a song about linda lovelace with mike douglas a book on timothy leary has leary living with maynard maynards daughter didnt like leary she thought he was an oportunist another book said that maynard had the cops after him so he went to india a third book stated that he went to india because he liked ravi shankar

  • @spacepatrolman Yeah, I witnessed that as well. funny moment! mine has the engraved discs in the bell. Larry Ramirez of Holton/Leblanc told me they only made a few of those for MF. Larry told me they made them especially for him to go with the Olympic rings, when he played for the closing ceremonies for the Olympics in 76. you can see an ex. of it on youtube playing Conquistador on the Mike Douglas show.

  • @MFHORNS111 When he did seminars the students were somehow convinced that his mf model was differant than theirs he said no they are the same ill trade you mine for yours if you want to they all said no

  • I was privileged on several occasions to sit in the buss after the gigs with Maynard, Stan Mark, Dennis Deblassiso, TIm Ries, Fisher and many other band mates. Talkin and rappin with the King of the Hi C's. I took thousands of shots and digital. Memories to last a lifetime. Maynard luved Gallo wine LOL, and Life in the JAZZ LANE ! My favorite album of all time New Vintage Ed Man

  • I Followed Maynard his work his bands and so on since the mid 70's and of course admired earlier work with Kenton and various other Big Bands. He was the Master of the Hi C's No one will ever come close. I luved his efforts in the school systems and how he'd grab up, up & Coming Musicians right out of college and give em a seat on the Band Stand and and in the Bus.

  • He says he used to play a .467 bore and now a .464? That's huge for a trumpet. It's like blowing through a water main. He is the Boss!! RIP MF.

  • 2:12 - 2:24 - What is he doing with his tongue?

  • @GooStreet play one then say that again!!

  • @cadillacdude1975 Assuming that's where everyone ended up, a mighty band of musicians indeed!
