@rywy77 that opened quick for a base canopy slider up. even with a mesh slider. i bet that one hurt. but not as much as if he'd hit the rocks

BASE jumpers pack their canopies the same way a reserve would be. I'm sure you know they are supposed to "POP" as resorting to the reserve means jumpers NEED as much altitude as possible...a sniveling canopy for BASE would kill many people. A lot of people focus on what could've happened "If he would've pulled later, blah blah blah." I say he was expereinced enough to know that he was in an unrecoverable situation with some kind of intervention and did the right thing. I applaud him.
