POST UFC 105 'Couture vs Vera'

I don't know why they is so much fuss about the outcome of the Couture, Vera fight. It was no where near as lopsided a decision as Shogun vs Machida. But maybe people still pissed off about the Shogun decision and they tempers is very short when it comes to the judging?

alot of people are deciding the outcomes of fights by what joe rogan says. i like joe rogan but he needs to shut up when it comes to his opinion on who won. i usually watch the controversial fights with the sound off...

Brandon Vera's game plan was to try and beat Randy with strikes. Randy Couture's game plan was to lean on Vera and smother him against the fence. Who completed their game plan most effectively?

Here's the problem with the way they score rounds, they don't even use the ten points. If there is a close round and they just give it to one guy, it's 10 9. If a guy eats a huge shot to the face and gets rocked, they still score the round 10 9. They need to actually use the points, to give some credit to dominant rounds.

Also this octagon control is bullshit. Aggression should be the deciding factor in close rounds. Laying on top of someone, doesn't count as aggression.

One last thing I will say is this.. Randy was put in there by Dana to de-rail Brandon because he has too much talent in that one division and they can't manage it.. Randy's always been Danas "work horse", Dana doesn't want to see dude like Brandon at the top because he won't kiss his ass like Randy will and Brandons a real ass outspoken dude.. Dana knows that shit but yet Randy and Dana are all cool and shit and what Dana says Randy carries out for him.

back to the "octagon control" thats all well and good if you actually do have control, meaning you are advancing position and trying to end the fight.. you don't lay on a man for 3 mins a fucking round. Randy almost never advanced positon he would continually push Vera again the cage and lay on him.. everyone say that shit, to me thats not "Octogon Control" who the fuck running from stikes? you saw it, dude got dropped and almost finished.. that right there is enough to win the fight imo
