  • Love the roar of the 071

  • 071's the best loco on irish tracks by far and still pulling freight trains all these years on

  • GOD i love the sound of a dirty old irish loco!..........ps have you seen them big locos in the U.S.A sd70ace used by BNSF railways they sound very similar and are also painted black and orange! there a bit tasty check em out!

  • Ah! 071s/111s + Mk II stock. The ONLY way to travel in Ireland. I did 5,540 miles behind these beasts (mostly on the Belfast-Dublin line, but some occasional forays out of Heuston) in the 3 years I was a student in Northern Ireland. Would have been more but for all the bus substitutions between Newry and Dundalk! Hearing these powering up to the summit at Cloghogue on load 11 or 12 was something else.

  • Very nice video. I love these locos 071. A nice sound- a little like Renfe 333.

  • me too

  • i used to see these running up to sligo, when i was a kiddie staying at my grans in ballymote...............................ive never forgoten there noise pulling off, and hearing them going into the distance...............soon to be a piece of history with high tec crap replacing them................ps i used to see 121,s as well

  • i miss these trains
