From time to time I don't feel that great which apparently is not unusual for what I have been through and given my other medical issues. Anyway, last weekend on Saturday, I had another episode of feeling pretty shitty - nausea, dizziness, short of breath, sweating - which I get every so often but this time I also had what felt like a very fast heart beat (palpitations). Have had this before but it usually ends after a minute or two but this time it seemed to go on forever, in fact for around 45 mins. Anyway, said to my wife when this happened I think I will go and see my cardiologist and yesterday I did this. The ECG was clear but my doctor did say that next time this happens and if it lasts for more than a couple of minutes, to either go to my local doctors or call an ambulance so that an ECG can be taken at the time. Will remember this should there be a next time. My appointment was not a waste of time as my doctor did note that a medication my GP changed me to for my ulcer/reflux (from Zoton to Nexium) was recently noted by QLD health as being a drug that has been recently found to counteract/interfere with the efficiency of Iscover (clopidogrel range of drugs) a medication I am on for my heart. Good lesson. Wise to always keep your specialist, in my case cardiologist, up to date with any new or changes your GP might make to your medications. Must remember to mention this when I give my next talk about my recovery programme to the Gold Coast cardio rehab centre - a talk I give every six weeks to the current group of people undergoing rehab for a heart event.
