@leetyler2000 yes you are right. MSC does also run cruise liners, which dump their bilge oil into the ocean. in the last case they were fined US$10m in the US.  And if follows a long list of environmentally marginal practices. they also run many container ships, just like the one that was run aground here in NZ. some vessel are leased and some they own. I don't think it makes much difference if they are leased or owned. they are still all run by MSC

I understand where your coming from but any disaster regardless of who was at the helm is avoidable but do you think Kiwi Captains never run aground.

BTW the ship is not owned by MSC you will find that nearly all the MSC Container Vessels are on charter and most are in a pretty bad state of repair,

Why didn't the Port VTC monitoring the Vessel notify the Ship that they were standing into shallow water??? I'm sure they were Kiwi/Maori.

How can you say the captain was drunk, even if it was his birthday, do you know that for a fact? Stop believing the propaganda you're fed by the NZ government.

The captain wouldn't have even been on duty at that time of the morning and would've been tucked up in his bunk . Rather like the government who were also caught napping in the days that followed.

The critical importance of this terrible tragedy must not be forgotten, In the current climate, those responsible NEED to be held accountable. We will all suffer, and it must be made known that to pollute on this scale will incur the full punishment of the peoples law.

@Buzzytymezproduction well the dodgy corporation is mentioned several times in the video. they, along with the crew, are responsible.  Although it is unlikely they'll pay anything like the true cost of the cleanup and recovery operation.

So why is the focus not on the corporation itself, instead it's "dodgy philipinos" and "dodgy Greek". (You wouldn't refer BP as a 'dodgy english' company now would you) Surely it should be about MSC utilising underqualified personnel, and cheap labour. Race-related gestures that you make come loaded, and as someone else pointed, detracts from your main objective and fuels an unbiased hate and distrust to a group of innocent people. Apart from that, kudos on your efforts thus far :)
