Actor and author Jamie Lee Curtis entertains an audience of children and parents June 30 at the ALA Annual Conference in Anaheim, California. After warming up the crowd with her infant impersonation, Curtis reads from her new book Big Words for Little People. Afterwards, she explains how she found the idea for her first book, and then speculates on why celebrities are often compelled to write children's books.
Jamie, if you ever see this comment, I want to say how impressed I am with you over the years since we first met when you visited my classroom at Tripod School with Megan Williams. You did not have a stiff upper lip but interacted with my deaf preschoolers by pantomiming a wolf. Nothing please me than seeing you sit down with kids and read aloud a book. If by any chance, visit my 1001booksinasl channel at youtube someday. You are a classy gal!
