Ming Yue Ji Shi You 明月几时有

A song by my dad. He took some lines from a few of the most beautiful Chinese poetries of all time for the lyrics.

So imagine someone who doesn't know English trying to translate Shakespeare. You know what I mean. But my dad asked me to try to translate it somehow... so here's all I can manage:

Ming Yue Ji Shi You means something like "When will I see a full moon".

For the Chinese, the moon represents something perfect. It represents unison, and it can also represent the love of two souls that remain together for always.

We have been hoping for perfect endings, but in reality not everything will be as good as expected.

When the time comes, we have to let go. It's not always a bad thing. Because that's how we learn to heal, and accept that whatever will be, will be...

Just like how we only notice the beauty of a full moon, we believed that love is like a fairytale with a happy ending. Somehow we never realize how beautiful a crescent moon can be.

有時侯，太執着于要求完美的人生，無法將缺憾和悲傷熔化，接納為人生必然包含不完美的那一部份，漫漫長路，只會讓自己更加的舉步艱辛。。。月有陰晴圓缺，人有悲歡離合。一­直以來，我們不假思索的推崇月圓的美，卻忽略了更多時候月缺的風情萬種。欠缺了遺憾，欠缺了不完美的那一塊的人生，絕對不會精彩！
