The Mountain Goats new song, 'From TG&Y'

John Darnielle, Peter Hughes, Franklin Bruno and Eric Friedlander perform a new Mountain Goats song titled 'From TG&Y' that will likely be on the follow-up album to Get Lonely. This was at Europa in Brooklyn, NY on September 29th.

Edit: Apparently it's been confirmed with John that the song name is 'From TG&Y' and not 'For TG&Y'.

I miss the nutty buddy bars in the TG&Y food court. They had good guns too in sporting goods dept. Oklahoma City was where they were based, now the building is used for Hinder video shoots?

Wow, I used to hang out at the TG&Y in Denver, when I was a kid. It makes sense that John would find a new way to make me melancholy. There was just nothing like TG&Y. I once saved up all of my money for a week to buy one of the big milk cartons of malted milk balls. And they had pet parakeets for sale that I stared at for hours, dreaming of having one someday.

Of course the best part was the section where they had stuff for our bicycles ... blinkers, horns, baskets.

It's a good song and all, but it will NOT be on the spring '08 album. John has said that he won't be playing any of the new songs live.
