@just4playin1 Generally, that's true, but sometimes helis will go in at high speed, just depends on the situation. I watched a guy in my heli club put his Trex 500 into a tree trunk at about 50~60 mph. It was a complete write-off. About the only thing that did survive was the motor and the swashplate. Everything else was either bent, broken, or missing entirely.

Wow, I've seen plenty RC heli crashes both on Youtube and in person, but I've always wished I could see one in slow motion. Great video!

yes seems only the blades could be expensive depending on the blades but there could be more

@victoriadish I dont know about that, all the planes I crashed only had the tail left to mount on a wall... Where all my crashed helicopters only needed several parts replaced and adjusted and they would be back in the air... When helicopters crash they arent traveling that fast, when my planes crashed they were going well over 120MPH straight into the ground... Usually need a bucket to collect all the pieces...lol

@cam21fr Yeah that Trex 250 is unbelievably tough... I have been thinking about getting one for in the yard... I have seen guys landing them rotor side down without damage... Of course it was on a gym floor but still, if I did that with my 400 it would explode...lol

@Jak3Mac The big ones cost around 2 or 3 thousand & can be more depnding on equiptment... The jet turbine ones and custom built ones can cost over 10,000... Just the jet turbine engine is 5700.00 thats not including all the parts to make it work... So yeah they can be expensive, but most people fly the 450 to 600 size helicopters which start at 200.00 and go as high as 1500.00... Thats why you see so many pilots crying when they crash because they know their wife is gonna kill them...lol
