@fishyfrost Agree with you on both parts. Granted, given my age, I probably wasn't too young to enjoy the original series at the time, but even now, when I see some episodes, it feels...eh to me.

I was a teen when this was airing. Even though they were all mutants, they were teens too, and had certain problems we could relate to. That made it that much more awesome to me. :)
