It doesn't really mean it's better, just different.

Honestly, I don't really see what the big deal is. Trophies/Achievements are basically just challenges for gamers. Many of them are the same thing just under a different style. You still get the same shit for it just under a "prettier" name.

When you achieve a Platinum in a game, it shows that you 100% completed every "Achievement" that the game has to offer. You can't get the Platinum unless you get all other trophies which makes it a good challenge. But for Xbox it's just numbers, obviously it's better to have your score higher than anyone elses but people could just miss the more difficult achievements and just go for loads of cheap ass easy ones from different games. Therefore Platinums are better.
