For this (Vocal Version) we asked Amanda Scott to sing with us on this cover, after hearing her voice. Amanda just happens to be Shaye's wife, one of The Piano Guys.

The writers, Paul Epworth and Adele, described "Rolling in the Deep" as a "dark blues-y gospel disco tune." As we started arranging this cover, the song came alive when we found a destined matchup in the melody from Gustav Holst's classical piece "Jupiter"—a deep melody that rang out when layered on top of everything we were creating for this arrangement. To make a long studio-story short, it all came together after that. ALL sounds were created by acoustic & electric cellos (5 different cellos) and piano. By the time we were finished we had used 60 tracks.

In this arrangement we borrowed a melody from Gustav Holst's "Jupiter" Suite from "The Planets" -- op. 32 -- be sure to listen to his original composition -- it's amazing! The melody we used comes in about half-way through the piece.

  • When Adele sings it it sounds angry, when Amanda sings it, it sounds really sad and heartbroken (in a good way)

  • Great video but Adele makes it sound so much deeper (literally and figuratively). I love you guys as always though the instruments only are perfect. She is a good singer too but I feel she would do better in other songs. Please don't hate my comment I'm just saying what I think I still love them.

  • @DarkBoonEspardo and i dont get them i dont like how she sings its kinda posh and that doesnt fit well to this song

  • better than the original! ;)

  • @FlugelHorn117 Adele sounds angry because...well, have you listened to the lyrics? It's an emotionally charged song...an "angry" song. She's hurt and feels used. That's enough to make anyone angry.

    Both Amanda and Adele are amazingly talented in their personally unique ways. :)

  • I don't think she has any feet. o.o;
