Johnny Cash "Gimme Five, Johnny Cash" Heinrich Doc Wolf/Dirk Schlag

This song i wrote for Johnny Cash in early 2003. Being in hospital in Nashville he heard it through one of his grandsons. I was proud! A little later this song was published by IndieWorld Country Records in Nashville/TEN. and made it up into their top 10 after about 35 weeks. By the way: My full cover version of "Ring of Fire" made it up to No 3 at the same radio-station. Merle Kilgore (co-writer of the song) who heard it before his death judged it to be "the best version after John's".
Dirk Schlag, one of the best country-guitarists plays from the off!!!

Happy, you like the song! But it is not a cover, it is a songs about my relation towards Johnny Cash, that I wrote early in 2003. John heard it in hospital and the family gave me some of his stage-dresses. After his death the song (in its englisch radio-version) was about 40 weeks in Nashville top 40 and made it up to no. 6 in top ten.

Your pronunciation is almost 100% correct. at some parts your accent is noticeable, but for the most part you sound just like Cash himself!! 5 stars my German friend!

Thanks for your support, being a native speaker. There are so many Englisch-speaking singers that sang in our language (between many others: Johnny Cash). No German I know would ever think of criticising their very strong accent!
