  • i know it's using MS-DOS but what OS did you use to boot? my guess is 98 or ME but maybe you can make a boot able floppy to boot 2000 just maybe, anyways great video and am just browsing youtube for these vids because am on my way to building one my self just as a hobbie and to test out some old stuff i had in mind so thanks for the upload i love your machine. please send me links of videos of these kind i need help planning my machine abit but thanks anyways!! cheers! from seattle!!

  • @Cr0z2010 The OS I am using to boot is infact MS-DOS, version 6.22. What may make you see different is all the text. Those are the various drivers loading. Like soundblaster, ethernet card, mouse, himem. It purely is software wise not younger than 1993. I may have used various newer drivers which are smaller than default so that I have more memory while running but appart from that...

  • @doktersbaitso Thanks, It will be good for the future reference. I think I'll cope with MS-DOS on this particular machine as I installed it some years ago and alot of things have been built upon it which I don't think I could get back right again If I started over. If I make another DOS machine (which I hopefully will) I will use what you share :)

  • @Blurredman

I just assembled my dosgame computer and will try to get it running with DRDOS 6.0 and windows 3.1.

If I get it to work, I'll tell you. ;)

  • @doktersbaitso I know of the fix, but searching for it this day and age, and making sense of what is required in order to implement it is quite frustrating.

  • @Blurredman

There was a fix to make DRDOS 6 compatible with windows in that time.

    I used it frequently.

  • @Dant2142

That just takes the fun out of it then eh ;)

  • @Blurredman Long file names, NTFS support, a mouse driver that takes a whole of 3K of RAM... CD installation, USB support, Simpler Network drive mounting, Generic Drivers, pretty much 95/98 without the GUI and much better DOS support.

  • that game you're playing called Wolfenstein or whatever it says looks just like one i used to play called BadToys
