Emil Gilels Эми́ль Григо́рьевич Ги́лельс, Emi'li Grego'rievič Gi'lelis; Odessa, October 19, 1916 Moskva, October 14, 1985) plays the second piano sonata in g minor Op. 22 by Robert Alexander Schumann (Zwickau,8 June 1810 Bonn, 29 July 1856).

  • @berlinzerberus ; this is the original finale of the sonata, it was kicked out of the sonata because Clara Schumann said it was too difficult to play, so Robert replaced it by the finale you're talking about

    so now it is called presto WoO 5 n°2

    Però queste composizioni non mi piacciono molto poichè (giudizio personale, con poche conoscenze artistiche) mi danno l' idea che il compositore voglia mostrare a chi lo ascolta quanto veloce e preciso possa essere. Io penso che la velocità e la precisione non siano tutto. Nella musica deve esserci atmosfera, armonia. Cose che, una persona come me non riesce a captare. Posso dire solamente che è bravo nella precisione e nella velocità.

  • ...i only know the last mouvement of the second sonata by schumann with the broken semiquaver octaves at the beginning.did he edit an earlier version of this.the gilels mouvement i ve never heard.
