@Targoni5 I heard the same from someone who sold souvees at the theater. She was simply vocally tired from over use.

Ah yes, some of Tony Kushner's work. Too bad it didn't really take off........ I guess it was too good for the majority of the public. And I wouldn't have done this number. I'd have gone with the end of act one or one of those fun numbers, to get people really interested.

one of the best performances i've ever seen in musical theatre. this song is obviously vocally demanding, but acting wise not many songs are this difficult. and the performance that Tonya puts in is absolutely amazing. I would've loved to see Jennifer Holliday do this in her heyday.

I saw her perform this role several times in L.A., her voice was much, much stronger than this one recording... I believe she was under the weather for this Tonys performance. This is great, though I wish there were a high quality video of her really knocking this outta the park in the show, for all to enjoy!
